The grace of God is a prominent...

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.

Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

… being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood.

Titus 2:11; John 1:17; Romans 3:24–25

The grace of God is a prominent theme in the Bible. What is grace anyway? My world encyclopaedia provides the following information: “Grace is a basic concept of Christian doctrine. It is given to people without any merit, out of God’s free benevolence.” Another source says, “Grace is the undeserved mercy of God toward sinners who deserve just the opposite.”

Complete redemption instead of eternal punishment: this is what God’s grace offers us. It is part of the essence of grace that it is free for all mankind and does not presuppose any merit. Otherwise, it would not be possible at all. For who could fulfil the just demands of God? And yet God’s justice requires an adequate, just basis on which grace is shown to us. That is why the Bible repeatedly speaks of Jesus Christ and His atoning death on the cross. God can only pardon me, the guilty sinner, because Jesus Christ confessed my guilt and took the punishment upon Himself. In this way, He satisfied the justice of God for me and my sins.

We read in the Bible that in Christ, “the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men”. Really, for all? Yes, it is offered to all people without distinction – and for free. We only have to claim it personally for ourselves by confessing our guilt to God and believing in Christ and His atoning death for us.

Today’s reading: 2 Kings 5:15-27 · John 18:28-32

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
