Jesus Christ and our problems

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Hebrews 2:17–18

Jesus Christ and our problems
“Life is so hard!” We hear this lament quite often. And when we think of the many sufferings, of the many injustices in the world, of the difficulties and disappointments in the different stages of life, and of death, which is at the end of everything, we understand why many people talk like this. This is even more so when there is so much uncertainty in this world and no hope for the hereafter. Then life can really become a burden.

But there is One who can understand us completely: Jesus Christ. He lived as a man among men on earth. He shed tears Himself on several occasions, so He knows how to comfort you. He was despised and hated by the world, but He wants to show you His love. He was abandoned by everyone, but He will never abandon you if you confide in Him. He was rejected, but He will never reject you. He says, “The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” (John 6:37).

Because He, the Righteous One, bore God’s judgment for sin, anyone can receive God’s forgiveness through Him. He died on the Cross for you and He wants to give you eternal life.

What do we have to do to possess Jesus as our Saviour and friend? We can tell Him all our failures, the darkest parts of our lives, in prayer. No transgression, no burden, is too heavy for Him that we should be ashamed to confess it. On the contrary, He rejoices when we come to Him in repentance. He wants to take the burden from us and give us rest.

Today’s reading: 2 Kings 8:1-15 · John 19:17-24

And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their...More

JESUS IN YOUR BOAT

No doubt, life in a sense is like the sea. A characteristic of the sea is that storms of varying degrees arise, putting the lives of those sailing on it in jeopardy of being drowned. In Jesus' Name, the storms of life will not be able to drown you, your family and your business. While literal storms are natural...More
