The Lord helps!

But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy.
Genesis 39:21

The Lord helps!
Joseph lived in a wealthy family. His father loved him. He himself was intelligent and good-looking. So he grew up like many teenagers, where everything seemed to go according to plan.

Joseph believed in God and proved his love for Him by obeying his father and serving his brothers. Although they hated him, he sought them out to inquire about their welfare. And this is where his problems began: his brothers threw him into a pit and a little later sold him as a slave. He was taken to Egypt, where he served Potiphar faithfully and resisted the temptation to sin. Then he was put in prison on false charges.

How unfairly and unjustly Joseph was treated! Yet his faith endured. How was this possible? “The Lord was with Joseph.” That is why he was able to remain faithful to God in both slavery and prison.

As you face daily challenges as a young Christian, remember Joseph. Life is often unfair! The temptation to sin can suddenly come upon you. Where can you find strength and help not to cave in when these difficulties arise?

The Lord is with you and stands by you so that you can remain faithful to Him. In His grace He helps you to bear the unrighteous behaviour of others and to say no to sin.

Today’s reading: 2 Kings 9:17-29 · John 20:1-10

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE 1

Under normal circumstances, no human being desires to be a nonentity. The various forces in the world however, are responsible for many people spending their entire life amounting to nothing and dwelling in the valley of not-well-to-do persons. The Almighty God Himself in making man did not intend for him to be a...More

A spiritual treasure had been entrusted to the apostle Paul that he wished to share with the Christians in Rome. It did not come from his own abilities or knowledge. What he wished to impart to them he had himself received...More
