Jesus Christ – the Saviour

We ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
John 4:42

Jesus Christ – the Saviour
Everything will ultimately be determined with reference to Jesus Christ. He is the Saviour who can free people from their guilt and bring them into a happy relationship with God.

But many people, while admitting their guilt before God, do not want to accept that the way to heaven leads only through Jesus Christ. They see in Him a great teacher who preached high morals or a kind benefactor who helped people. They believe that He died on the cross for His views.

However, there are two facts that throw more light on the Lord Jesus. They show that He is indeed the Saviour of the world.

o His deity: Jesus Christ is God and man in one person. When He lived in Israel, He performed many miracles that testified to His deity. He changed water into wine, healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, and raised the dead to life. He thus confirmed His right and power to forgive sins.
o His resurrection: Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after His death on the cross, never to die again. He showed Himself alive many times to His disciples and then returned to heaven. As victor over death, He can give eternal life to all who believe in Him.
Through personal interaction with Jesus Christ, we can still come to the conviction today that He is indeed the Saviour of the world – and also my and your Saviour!

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 14:12-15:8 · Psalms 119:81-96

Today God is calling you (3)

I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail.' Luke 22:32 NASB

God wants you to do His will, but you'll never reach the place of spiritual maturity in which you're free of Satan. You can overcome him, but you can't eliminate him. Look at Peter. He had only one gear: overdrive. He was always...More
