Those in a hurry lose their time

Prepare to meet your God.
Amos 4:12

Those in a hurry lose their time
On Sunday, 23 July 2017, a group of motorcyclists was driving from Klosters to Davos, Switzerland. At the height of Laret, a driver overtook a car. When she returned to her lane, she veered off the right side of the road and crashed head-on into the wall of a house. In her rush for a few extra seconds she lost her life!

Once again the wisdom in the title has been proven true. Perhaps we are living our whole life in a hurry. There is so much to do – with no time to pause and reflect. We want to save time but in fact we lose time, because we never enjoy the present and are always looking to what is coming next!

That’s why God calls out to us: “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). We should call upon God today and confess our sins to Him – unreservedly, unvarnished, honestly. Then He will forgive us for Jesus’ sake and give us eternal life. This frees us from an oppressive burden and makes us ready to meet God with a clear conscience.

Many are in no hurry at all in this vitally important matter. They take their time – a lot of time. Time passes and suddenly they are at the gates of eternity and are not equipped to stand before the holy God. Some waver too long – and only end up losing their lives.

Today’s reading: Nehemiah 7:1-38 · Proverbs 13:13-25

Today God is calling you (3)

I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail.' Luke 22:32 NASB

God wants you to do His will, but you'll never reach the place of spiritual maturity in which you're free of Satan. You can overcome him, but you can't eliminate him. Look at Peter. He had only one gear: overdrive. He was always...More
