The more you read the Bible...

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you?

He said to them, but who do you say that I am?

Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Genesis 3:9; Matthew 16:15; ; John 6:69

The more you read the Bible, the clearer it becomes that God has been striving to engage in conversation with man from the earliest times. This endeavour runs like a golden thread through the ages and the otherwise diverse books of the Bible. The language of God in His Word is at times sobering. Sometimes His questions strike us to the core. “Where are you?” This first question that God addressed to man applies to you and me today. Where am I, and where do I stand in relation to God? Then God goes on to say, “What is this you have done?” Ever since I first glimpsed the light of day , I have often lived without God, even though I was sure of His existence. These questions challenge everything I have done with my life, with my time, with my resources, and with what He has done for me! (Genesis 3:13)

About 4,000 years after Adam and Eve, Jesus Christ asked people what He meant to them. He also asks us this question. What is He to me? A stranger or a friend? Someone I would like to know or someone I would prefer to avoid? When I come to Him and believe in Him, He further asks, “What do you want me to do to you?” or, “Do you want to get well?” He is the only One who can heal even the wounds of our heart. Today, He wants to connect with you. He invites us to come to Him! (Matthew 16:13–16; Luke 18:41; John 5:6)

Today’s reading: Genesis 37:18-36 · Psalms 22:23-31

What shall the baptized for the dead do if ...

What shall the baptized for the dead do if those that are baptized rise not at all? Why also are they baptized for them?
(1 Corinthians 15:29)

Who are "the dead," and who are those "baptized for the dead"? The next verse gives an important hint: "Why do we also endanger ourselves every...More

Getting Them From Childhood To Adulthood (2)

Be clear minded and self-controlled' 1 Peter 4:7 NIV
Going from childhood to adulthood is a transition that requires a lot of wisdom and love. Your teen will feel and behave child-like sometimes, and adult-like other times. Your job is to realize that whatever their status, they will become a man (woman)...More
