An effective witness
Winning our fellow human beings for God and the Lord Jesus requires more than knowledge of the gospel. It also requires wisdom to use this message correctly when interacting with people. It often takes time and patience to find the right moment for a conversation about the Saviour. In the end, it isn’t enough to just talk about Christ. What is much more important is to live for Christ so that others can see that the Lord Jesus means more to us than anything else.

If we only reach out for what life on earth offers, we are poor guides to heaven. It is impossible for us to convince others to be saved for eternity through faith in the Lord Jesus as long as we are seeking our fulfilment in this life. But if they see that we are focused on Christ in heaven, they will be drawn to the Saviour by our testimony.

A mother has the wonderful opportunity to win the hearts of her children for the Lord. But it isn’t enough to tell them about the Saviour who died for them on the cross. In her behaviour, the mother should show that she wants to live for the Lord Jesus. Especially in her everyday duties she can demonstrate to her children the faith that unites her with Christ in heaven. In this way, children may be led to the Lord Jesus.
