A comforting certainty
Although in today’s Bible passage the Lord Jesus has the daily needs of His disciples in mind, His statement can also be applied to the many challenges of the path of faith. Our God and Father in heaven truly knows what we need. This fact makes every disappointment more bearable, silences every complaint, and creates in us a humble trust in God.

Often, we don’t know what is really in our best interests. But our heavenly Father is wise in his actions. He makes no mistakes and gives us what we need. Sometimes, in the midst of problems, we would like to cry out angrily, “Everything is against me!” Then the thought of the Father’s wisdom and love helps us to overcome any bitterness.

Is there anything that is currently shaking our inner peace? Are we struggling with God’s guidance in our lives? Are the friends from whom we expected help and comfort letting us down? If so, write with a thick red pen on each trial: My heavenly Father knows that I need this.

Don’t we want to learn this lesson and accept everything from His loving hand? This helps us to trust in our God and Father much more in the future. He guides us safely through the storms of life and allows us to encounter only what is for our good.
