When God sends adverse circumstances

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:6

When God sends adverse circumstances
Two Christians were transporting Bibles through a remote area of Sudan. The first leg of their journey was supposed to be covered by a truck that was being used as a bus. They paid the fare and climbed onto the back of the truck. But shortly before departure, they were forced to make way for other passengers. What an injustice! They had to wait for the next truck to take them.

After a few hours of driving, they came across a horrific sight: the first truck was lying tipped over in a ditch. From the depths of their hearts, our two friends thanked God that He had protected them and their precious cargo from this accident. How often do believers who firmly trust in God experience the way negatives turn into positives!

Is our life’s path also blocked by injustice, illness or other difficulties? The Lord is above these circumstances and prepares us a way out! It is up to us to believe in hope against hope (Romans 4:18). Where human intelligence can no longer help, God in His wisdom will intervene.

We do not always understand what the Lord is doing. That is a good thing. Where would our trust in Him be then? Let’s not forget: the wise God always knows the “big picture”. He is powerful and at the same time full of love, even if He occasionally leads us down paths we do not understand.

What He has in mind is much more wonderful than we can imagine.

Today’s reading: Isaiah 22:1-25 · Acts 27:14-26

. He learned that God can only use subjection of Himself, weakness in self, and dependence upon Him only.
However, there was only one person, spiritually speaking, who was a true Nazarite, and that was our Lord Jesus. He shows us that it is not a negative thing to be separated from the world but rather a...More

Adam found an excuse:

Jeremiah 17:9

In a discussion on the above text with some young people, the question was asked: how are we to understand the word "deceitful" here? After some consideration they reached this conclusion: deceitful means that the heart finds an excuse for everything. This seems a very apt...More
