The “Father’s house” of which Jesus Christ...

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2

The “Father’s house” of which Jesus Christ speaks here is the immediate presence of God in heaven. From there, the Son of God came to earth and became man, and to there He returned again after His resurrection. And there – this is the completely new, great promise here – He will also receive His disciples one day. This includes all those who believe in Him.

Because of his sin, man was expelled from the earthly paradise of Eden and from the presence of God that he enjoyed there. How is it now possible for him to be accepted into God’s dwelling place? Isn’t God pure and holy, so that He cannot have any fellowship with sin?

It is the Son of God Himself who has opened heaven to us. He did this in a twofold way. First, sinners had to be made fit for heaven. To do this, Jesus went to the cross and endured God’s judgment for sin. This benefits everyone who believes in Him and confesses their sins to Him. Through Jesus’ sacrificial work, we are washed clean of all sin and impurity and can come before God without fear.

But one more thing was needed. Jesus, the resurrected Son of God, returned to heaven as a man after He completed His work of redemption. He is the first man in heaven and thus He opened heaven for human beings. In so doing, He prepared a place there for all who belong to Him. They will then be with Him in God’s glory for all eternity.

Today’s reading: Isaiah 53:1-12 · Hebrews 12:18-29

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

HOW PROPHETIC ARE YOUR NAMES?

The name you bear is very important because it serves as your identity and your future may be connected to it. The name a person bears is sometimes indicative of the experiences he or she will encounter in life. Take for instance Moses: this name means "drawn out of water"

Bible in one year:
