We’ve got it better!

I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.
Acts 26:29

We’ve got it better!
A soldier taunted his comrade, who was a devout Christian. Mockingly, he said, “The foolish thing about you Christians is that you believe you are better than the rest of us.”

“We aren’t better,” replied his comrade calmly, “we’ve just got it better.”

How true! The person who has been reconciled with God through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ does indeed have it better than anyone else whose relationship with their Creator is not in order. One is saved while the other is lost.

Paul once stood before King Agrippa, who had gathered with the leading people of the city of Caesarea in the courtroom to hear from the imprisoned apostle about the Christian faith. After Paul had shared his own conversion to God and his relationship of faith in the Lord Jesus, he told the king, “I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.”

Paul desired that all his listeners would become true Christians like himself. Though he was in captivity, he knew that he had it better than those noble and wealthy people who were listening to him. Personally knowing the Lord Jesus as Saviour and being a beloved child of God – this joy cannot be surpassed.

Today’s reading: Exodus 13:11-22 · Luke 6:12-19

OF KEYS AND DOORS

Every apartment or compartment with a lock has its key. It takes a key to open the gate of a house and several keys to enter the house its rooms. If you have fridge, car or wardrobe, you will equally have their keys. From the foregoing therefore, it is apparent that several good things with value have their...More

APPLY THE KEY

Every blessing worth its salt requires a key without which the seeker cannot access it. While some people have never experienced open doors, others once did, but the doors hitherto opened to them have been shut. In
