Blessing and protection

You are the light of the world.
Matthew 5:14

Blessing and protection
When the incarnate Son of God lived on earth, He was the light of the world. He perfectly revealed who God is. However, people hated this light because it exposed their evil deeds. That’s why they crucified the Lord Jesus Christ. After His death and resurrection, He left the world and returned to heaven.

Now it is the task of His disciples to spread divine light among people. He tells them, “You are the light of the world.” The idea is that in our daily lives we display who God is. People should get to know His love, holiness, grace and righteousness through us. The source of light is not within us, but we are “light in the Lord” (Ephesians 5:8). The light we radiate comes from Christ in heaven.

There are always opportunities to tell others about the love of God and the Saviour Jesus Christ. We can tell them that anyone who turns to God and believes in the Lord Jesus will be saved from eternal judgment. This testimony about the Saviour God should be confirmed by our kind and just behaviour.

In the place where the Lord has put us, He wants to use us to spread divine light and make people aware of the grace available for salvation. What a sublime mission!

“... among whom you shine as lights in the world ...” (Philippians 2:15)

Today’s reading: Exodus 20:1-7 · Luke 8:26-39

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
