You are with Me

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.
Psalm 23:4

You are with Me
The Lord Jesus never leaves His own alone. Many believers have experienced this in very difficult circumstances.

1. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, Daniel’s three friends, refused to worship the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. They remained faithful to the living God and were thrown into the fiery furnace. Suddenly, a fourth man was seen with them: it was the Son of God, who came to them and supported them in this test of faith.

2. The disciples were in a boat in the middle of the sea when a violent storm broke out. The waves beat into the boat, filling it with water. The disciples became afraid so they woke the Lord, who was peacefully sleeping on a cushion. He got up and calmed the storm, then He rebuked their little faith –it was impossible for them to perish with the Son of God in the boat.

3. The voice of ministry of the aged Apostle Paul had been silenced by his imprisonment. The Christians in Asia had turned away from him. When he had to defend the Christian faith before the Roman authorities, everyone deserted him. Nevertheless, he was not alone. Looking back, he declared, “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me” (2 Timothy 4:17).
Perhaps we experience our path becoming lonely with no one standing by us. But the Lord Jesus never forsakes us. He remains with us in every situation.

Today’s reading: Exodus 28:15-30 · Luke 11:29-42

It may be that Jehovah will look on mine affliction, and that Jehovah will requite me good for my being cursed this day. And David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hill's side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast...More
