The path of faith

David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.
1 Samuel 30:6

The path of faith
Difficult moments in life – who doesn’t know them? Everything around us seems dark and gloomy. The path ahead is full of obstacles. How can we go on?

In such a situation, we may become discouraged. At that time it is so necessary to seek the help of our God, as David did when everything was against him. His family had been taken captive by enemies, and his followers wanted to stone him. In those times, he strengthened himself in his God.

Nothing justifies neglecting contact with God. No matter how many excuses we may find, they don’t count. Heaven is always open to us, and access to our God is always free. Thus we are encouraged, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). The Apostle Paul encourages us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6). We can tell our God and Father everything – our worries, fears and problems.

Through His Word, He strengthens our confidence in Him. He directs our thoughts to Himself. He reminds us of His love, grace and power so that we can take courage and continue the next steps on the path of faith with Him.

Today’s reading: Jeremiah 27:12-22 · Romans 3:9-20

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE 1

Under normal circumstances, no human being desires to be a nonentity. The various forces in the world however, are responsible for many people spending their entire life amounting to nothing and dwelling in the valley of not-well-to-do persons. The Almighty God Himself in making man did not intend for him to be a...More

Thoughts on the Epistle to the Romans (10)
A spiritual treasure had been entrusted to the apostle Paul that he wished to share with the Christians in Rome. It did not come from his own abilities or knowledge. What he wished to impart to them he had himself received...More
