I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:14

CC people
When sending emails, one can include recipients in “CC”. But what does “CC” actually stand for? CC is the abbreviation of carbon copy, which means copying with carbon paper. This dark, staining paper is placed between two sheets so that when writing on the top sheet, a copy is made on the bottom sheet. Someone appearing in an email under “CC” is thus not the direct recipient but merely receives a “digital copy” for information.

Working with copies in everyday life can be useful. But we ourselves shouldn’t be copies! We don’t have to imitate anyone, not always do what others do. For God has created each of us as a unique original. “CC people” do not fit into the creative concept of the Creator.

Those who know God through the Lord Jesus Christ can put their unique abilities and gifts into service for God and experience how fulfilled one can become in doing so. Knowing ourselves loved by God, we don’t desperately copy human role models, as they are always flawed and laden with weaknesses. Instead, we look to Christ, the only flawless role model, and imitate the faith of others who have lived for Jesus.

Therefore... let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.Hebrews 12:1–2

Today’s reading: Jeremiah 33:1-26 · Romans 6:17-23

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
