And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
Revelation 22:17

Fulfilled, eternal live
On the last page of the Bible, God makes an offer to all people. He offers them the “water of life”. What does that mean? It’s about genuine fulfilment in this present life and a happy prospect for eternity. God invites us to come to Him and accept this gift. In an ordered relationship with Him, our lives gain the right meaning. Then He also gives us a place in heaven where we will be eternally happy with Him.

Don’t we all suffer from an inner thirst for fulfilment in life? We have to honestly admit that our longing for happiness cannot be satisfied with success, wealth or recognition. Despite all that the world offers us, there is always a certain emptiness left, which only our Creator can fill.

God gives us the “water of life” for free. But we only receive it when we make a conscious decision for a life with Him. He says, “Let him who thirsts”. It is necessary that we definitely turn to God, acknowledge our failures, and confess our sins to Him. He then shows us that His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died on the cross to suffer for our sins and so that we might be reconciled to God. Through personal faith in the Saviour, we receive a new life in a blessed relationship with God. It begins here and continues eternally in heaven.
