The Son seeks the lost

The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Luke 19:10

The Son seeks the lost
About 2,000 years ago, the Son of God came to earth as the man Jesus Christ. He did so with the intention of seeking lost people and bringing them into a right relationship with God. He died on the cross to pay the price for the salvation of sinners with His life. After His resurrection, the Lord Jesus Christ returned to heaven. Yet He has not ceased to seek and save people. How He does this is illustrated with a story:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying to them, ’Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance” (Luke 15:4–7).

The Lord Jesus is this shepherd who goes after the lost sheep. He knows that you have strayed and can no longer find the way home to God. He seeks you and reaches out to you through the gospel. When you acknowledge your lost condition and entrust yourself to the Lord Jesus, He joyfully carries you home to His God and Father.

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
