The Father seeks worshippers

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in
spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

John 4:23

The Father seeks worshippers
Our God and Father seeks true worshippers. These are people who have experienced forgiveness of
their sins through faith in the Lord Jesus. They possess eternal life, and the Holy Spirit dwells
in them. They know God as their Father who loves them. Now the Father desires from them to
worship Him in spirit and truth:

o Christian worship has a spiritual character. We do not worship our God and Father by offering
sacrifices or playing music. That would be material worship. No, we worship God in our hearts and
with our lips. We tell Him how great and glorious He is.

o Christian worship corresponds to the full truth about God. We know Him as Father as He has
revealed Himself in His Son. In the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus, we recognise His
unfathomable love and absolute holiness. For this, we worship Him.
The Father seeks worshippers. It is His desire that we adore Him. Christian worship is voluntary.
God does not command it of us. But He delights when we honour Him voluntarily.

Corporate worship is linked to gathering for breaking bread. When we remember the Lord Jesus and
His death on the cross together, we are led to worship as we contemplate His glorious person and
His great work.

Today’s reading: 2 Chronicles 16:1-14 · Revelation 4:1-11

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
