From darkness to light (6)

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:1

From darkness to light (6)
I had come to God, but it was another two years before I could properly grasp the fact that I had true assurance of faith, knowing that I was accepted in Jesus Christ and saved, and that I would go to heaven and never be lost.
The inner struggle I had in those two years before I had the assurance of salvation was like groping my way through a dark tunnel. But in Jesus Christ I had entrusted myself to the strong Man, who released me from my physical and psychic addiction. During that time, many helpful Christians constantly supported me through prayer and their care for my soul. To them I am still grateful today.
I recognised that God had not only worked in my heart but also on my conscience. That was by no means pleasant, but salutary: there were things in my life that were not in order. I laid them before Jesus Christ in prayer and asked for forgiveness. Good and bad took on new values for me. I judged things by God's measure. I recognised that I was a sinner and that for the forgiveness of my evil deeds Jesus died vicariously on the cross for me. I thanked Him and obtained peace with God.
Now I can live as a redeemed Christian with my Lord and God. I know that in Him I am secure, despite the storms that Christians may pass through during their life. The Bible, the Word of God, again and again then proves my guide and help.

Today's reading: Proverbs ch. 1, vv.1-19

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
