Our testimony

He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah 6:8

Our testimony
When we use certain forms of public transport we have to put a ticket with a magnetic strip into a machine that reads the information showing our right to use the vehicle. One or two generations ago this technology did not exist. Ticket collectors and conductors had to punch a hole in the ticket. It was tedious work for the employees with the thousands of passengers travelling daily at peak hours.
One such retired ticket collector who had spent his whole life doing this once stopped a woman he happened to meet.
"Madame, I should like to thank you," he began, but was interrupted by her question, "What for?"
"For years you have been passing the gate in the underground where I collected the tickets, and every time I gave you back your ticket, you said, ‘Thank you' and with a nice smile added, ‘Enjoy your day'. I often wondered why you had such a peaceful, happy look. Then, one day, when you were searching for your ticket in your handbag, I noticed that you had a Bible. I thought that must be a where you found your happiness. So I bought a Bible, too, and reading the Word of God I had the joy to get to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour."
What power becomes apparent, unbeknown to us, in a life simply lived with the Lord Jesus! What a powerful way of leading souls to Him!
Today's reading: Proverbs ch.6 vv. 1-15
