Wild, naked and screaming,...

And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
Mark 5:14-15

This demon-possessed man was well-known in the whole district. Whoever met him could reckon with the worst. He would attack regardless. Of course people had tried to take him into custody. But with super-human strength he would always break free from any chain and he was not only a danger to others; he harmed himself, cutting himself with stones. Wild, naked and screaming, he lived among the tombs and in the mountains - a fearful figure!
One day Jesus entered that area. The man ran up to Him, but instead of attacking Him, he fell on his knees before Him. The Lord ordered the unclean spirit to come out of him.
That was the cause of his frightful behavior: demons, evil spirits had taken possession of him. It was not just one - that would have been bad enough - but a host of them. Yet whether they wanted to or not, they had to bow before the power of the Son of God and abandon the man.
Immediately he became a changed person. Shortly afterwards, people saw him sitting and listening to Jesus, dressed and sensible. Again there was the proof that Jesus is stronger than the devil and his agents. Today, too, Jesus is willing to release anyone suffering under sin and Satan's power. And each one of us has to do with sin, even if it is not a question of demonic compulsion. Freedom can be brought about solely by the Son of God. He is waiting to make you free and happy!
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 3

FALSE PROPHETS AND THEIR PROPHECIES-FOOLISH PROPHETS

The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying: Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say unto them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow after their own spirit, and have seen nothing!...More

EVERYONE NEEDS A MIRACLE

Some years ago, I was invited to be the guest speaker at a garden party in an exclusive, highbrow residential area. Because I arrived at the venue quite early, I was made to sit for a while in the house of my host. The house was an exquisite parade of wealth and splendour. I had never seen such brazen display of...More

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE DON'T!

A negative change is generally abhorred by men. Everyone craves progress. We always desire to keep ascending the ladder of success. No one wants to make a u-turn in the journey of greatness. The greatest journey whose end has the greatest significance is the journey to Heaven. This journey is only made in Jesus...More
