Social injustice

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luke 12:13-15

Social injustice
The question of sharing wealth is always a topical matter. Whether it is among the members of a family concerning an inheritance or between social classes, or among the nations of the earth, it is always the same problem. What should be a Christian's attitude regarding such conflicts? Surely that of the Lord Jesus. Today we might express the question as follows: "Teacher, don't you care about the injustice prevailing in the world? You can see that my neighbor an abundance of wealth; tell him to share some with me!" The Lord's reply would be no different: "Who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?"
Does God approve of injustice? Not at all! On the contrary, the day will come when He will establish a kingdom of righteousness and peace on the whole earth. At the moment, however, in this world that rejects Jesus and wishes to live apart from God, the Christian knows that injustice cannot be abolished. Egotism is at the centre of the human heart. But "Christsuffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18).
At present, God calls on each one to repent and believe in Jesus to receive the forgiveness of sins, his own personal instances of injustice. To whoever believes, He grants a new nature capable of unbiased love and justice in order to follow the example of Jesus, who "went about doing good" (Acts 10:38). "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all" (Galatians 6:10).
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 10

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
