This "most assuredly" announces... - All The Good Seed Daily Devotionals for 2026

This "most assuredly" announces...

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:24

This "most assuredly" announces an important statement to follow. Here it concerns the way to obtain eternal life. The Lord Jesus Christ brings it down to a simple denominator: we must hear His Word and believe God, for what He spoke were words from God. But this hearing is not limited to the ear; the heart is involved and must take it in.
The result is then threefold: first, eternal life. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is "the true God and eternal life" as God's Word says. Therefore the words, "He who has the Son has life" apply to all who believe in Him. (1 John 5:12&20).
The second point is being saved from judgment. At the final judgment of the dead, people will be judged according to their works, and none will escape. Their fate will be eternal death. But Christ bore the punishment of sins on the cross as the substitute for all who believe in Him. God's children will not come into judgment. They thus escape eternal death.
The third point ensues from this: the transformation from death to life has already taken place. In the epistle to the Ephesians, after establishing that God resurrected Christ from the dead through His mighty work, it continues: "and you who were dead in trespasses and sins." People who were dead in God's sight He has "made alive together with Christ" (cf. Ephesians 1:20;2:1,5,6). This God does even todday for everyone who comes to Christ.
Today's reading: 1 Kings 11:1-22

CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU?

Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More

I do hope you are realizing that after all there is no point envying the prosperous wicked. Do not kill yourself for nothing. You have your life to live. Do not be a puppet dancing the...More

Hudson Taylor...

John 19:30

The parents of Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), the well-known missionary in China, were believers. From their example, he noticed early in life how helpful prayer and the Bible are.
His parents' exemplary life impressed him, and he endeavoured to be as good a Christian as they were....More
