Good news: accept it or refuse it

I am the LORD YOUR God and there is no other.Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.
Joel 2:27.32

Good news: accept it or refuse it
Our Creator wanted to be known as a loving, perfect Father for each one of us, but our independent attitude, refusing God, deprived us of such a happy relationship. And this attiude finally condemned us.

The good news is that God comes towards us without waiting for us to take the first step. He comes in the Person of Jesus Christ, who says, "Come unto me!" (Matthew 11:28). "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).

Maybe you will say, "Why should I need Jesus Christ? Why believe in Him? Everything is all right. I am strong, and can manage very well without Him!" However, neither your abilities nor your claims will be worth anything when you appear before God.

Another person may say, "I can't believe that God is interested in me; I am too bad. I have done so many foolish things; I am ashamed to speak of them. I shall put up with the consequences all my life." Maybe, but God is interested in you. He wishes to forgive you and help you to start anew. He did it for me and can do so for you.

Refusing to repent and believe means scorning the most wonderful gift that God has given mankind: Jesus Christ. He was condemned and punished in our stead. Being unwilling to accept this offer means staying voluntarily on the side of the guilty. Accepting it, on the other hand, means obtaining God's forgiveness and becoming now and for ever His beloved child. Will you take this step now?
