God does not change His mind

Indeed it was for my own peace that I had great bitterness; but you have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption, for you have cast all my sins behind your back. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Isaiah 38:17; Romans 6:23

God does not change His mind
From its first pages the Bible reveals that God, our Creator, seeks only our good. He placed His creature in a wonderful, perfect environment and granted him the privilege of communicating with God Himself. He also gave him the responsibility to obey His will. But man soon disobeyed and has been a sinner ever since (Romans 5:19). Previously free and happy, man is now subject to tears, troubles and death for disobeying. That is why evil is present all over the world.

But God has never ceased to want man's good. He calls on him to repent: He "desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4). Knowing the truth means first accepting that the source of our thoughts and affections, i.e. our heart, is evil by nature, then grasping the remedy that God offers. His Son, Jesus Christ, came to the aid of fallen man by giving His life to save him. We need only accept Him as Saviour to receive new, spiritual life. For those who acknowledge that they are sinners there is forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. Once without any relationship to God, they are now united with Christ through His life. God sees them as His children. After His resurrection Jesus said to Mary, "Go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God" (John 20:17).

Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 31:1-8 · Revelation 17:7-18

It may be that Jehovah will look on mine affliction, and that Jehovah will requite me good for my being cursed this day. And David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hill's side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast...More
