God can see through us

Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the LORD, and their works are in the dark; they say, Who sees us? and, Who knows us?
Isaiah 29: 15.

God can see through us
Most crime happens at night. A thief is hardly likely to try a series of break-ins in broad daylight. He could so easily be spotted and even recognised by someone and thus prevented from carrying out what he planned.

Crime takes place much more in towns than out in the country. Townspeople do not know each other so well. After committing a crime, the perpetrator can "submerge" in a town much more easily than in country regions.

Today's verse from the Bible shows that there are people who think they can act similarly with regard to God. They do not deny His existence outright, but imagine they can conceal their thoughts and deeds from Him.

The Almighty must, however, pronounce a "Woe!" over them. Because such people have a totally false concept of Him, He explains how wrong and arrogant their ideas are by means of an illustration: "Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; for shall the thing formed say of him who made it, he did not make me? .

We cannot deceive God. He knows what we are thinking and doing. Moreover, one day He will call us to account for all that we have thought and done.

There is only one way to escape from God's judgment: confessing our sins to Him and believing in the Saviour Jesus Christ. Then God will forgive us and pronounce us free of all guilt.
