“We preach Christ crucified”

We preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1: 23.24.

"We preach Christ crucified"
Somewhere in England there was a church over whose porch one could read the engraving: "We preach Christ crucified". In the course of time ivy started growing over the walls and covered the last word: "We preach Christ". Later it was only "We preach", and finally the entire inscription was covered. Today‘s reading: Deuteronomy 33: 1 - 12 · Ephesians 2: 17 - 22

Hudson Taylor...

John 19:30

The parents of Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), the well-known missionary in China, were believers. From their example, he noticed early in life how helpful prayer and the Bible are.
His parents' exemplary life impressed him, and he endeavoured to be as good a Christian as they were....More
