For three years the Lord Jesus Christ “went about doing good, and...

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.
Matthew 8: 8.

For three years the Lord Jesus Christ . He frequently stayed in Capernaum, a city on the north-west bank of the Lake of Genessaret. A Roman garrison was stationed there, as two governmental regions met there.

When Jesus returned there one day the Roman centurion asked for help for his servant who was lying paralysed at home in great pain. Jesus answered, "I will come and heal him." But the centurion replied, "Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed." Then he explained that he trusted that the Lord Jesus had the same authority over diseases as he himself had over his soldiers.

"Assuredly, I say to you," Jesus answered, "I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel." Here it was not a matter of a simple command but of a great miracle of healing. And the Lord Jesus was to perform it by means of a word without being in the presence of the paralytic. Do we trust the Lord Jesus to help us, too? That is the point, so that we trust the Son of God's inconceivable power. He can help us by changing our life and granting us eternal life, if we trust Him. And He will do it, because He loves us.

"Go your way," Jesus said to the centurion, "and as you have believed, so let it be done to you." The report ends with the words: "And his servant was healed that same hour." Trust in Christ never meets with disappointment.

. He learned that God can only use subjection of Himself, weakness in self, and dependence upon Him only.
However, there was only one person, spiritually speaking, who was a true Nazarite, and that was our Lord Jesus. He shows us that it is not a negative thing to be separated from the world but rather a...More

Adam found an excuse:

Jeremiah 17:9

In a discussion on the above text with some young people, the question was asked: how are we to understand the word "deceitful" here? After some consideration they reached this conclusion: deceitful means that the heart finds an excuse for everything. This seems a very apt...More
