God’s conditions

The LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn his face from you if you return to him.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Chronicles 30: 9; 1 John 1: 9.

God's conditions
From his childhood John was difficult, causing his parents much trouble. Later his misdeeds became so serious that he spent several stays in prison. Every time his father paid for damage done and welcomed his son when he returned. After his parents' death John, thinking he would inherit some of his father's fortune, attended the opening of the testament.

The deceased had begun by making a list of the sad condition of his son, who, unable to bear hearing the list of his wrongdoings, stood up and left, slamming the door. The lawyer continued reading: "In spite of everything, he is my son, and I love him. For this reason, although he deserves nothing, I leave to him all that I possess on one condition: he must be present when my last will is read. If he is still present when the reading ends, he will inherit all my goods."

John thus lost all that he had hoped for, not because of his bad conduct, but because he refused to hear the truth.

Even today we are all born sinners, and our life is not worthy of God. But God offers His forgiveness to those who recognise Him. He loves us, but He, too, has His conditions: "This is the will of him who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have everlasting life" . "Sees the Son", that is recognising Jesus Christ as the Son of God, who died and rose again for us.

Today‘s reading: 1 Kings 11: 26 - 43 · John 9: 1 - 12

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
