The storm on the lake

He (Jesus) rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But he said to them, Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
Mark 4: 39 - 41.

The storm on the lake
Like the disciples in the boat during the storm, Christians have a troublesome pathway through this world.

If Jesus is in our boat, even if He appears to be asleep, shipwreck is impossible, for our fate is bound up with Him. Notice that He was in the stern of the boat, near the helm, which reminds us that, despite appearances, He was guiding the boat. In their distress the disciples, bewildered that He could sleep at such a moment, awakened Him: "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?"

It is the same in our time: when we are in difficulties, we tend to think that the Lord is asleep and doesn't worry about us. How wrong we are! Hadn't He given the order: "Let us cross over to the other side?" The disciples hadn't yet discovered that He was their Master. If they had believed His word, they would have been certain that they would arrive in spite of the storm.

He has given us this promise: . With Jesus in the boat with us on our life's voyage we have no reason to fear, even if He seems to be asleep. The waves and the wind shake us in vain: we shall always be safe with Jesus. Let us put our trust in Him. He will have control, whatever the situation.

Today‘s reading: 2 Kings 23: 12 - 23 · Psalms 109: 1 - 20

OF KEYS AND DOORS

Every apartment or compartment with a lock has its key. It takes a key to open the gate of a house and several keys to enter the house its rooms. If you have fridge, car or wardrobe, you will equally have their keys. From the foregoing therefore, it is apparent that several good things with value have their...More

APPLY THE KEY

Every blessing worth its salt requires a key without which the seeker cannot access it. While some people have never experienced open doors, others once did, but the doors hitherto opened to them have been shut. In
