The right one to serve God in prison (2)

The Spirit of the LORD God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor, he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Isaiah 61:1.

The right one to serve God in prison (2)
After being imprisoned I was subjected to a harsh interrogation and finally led to a squalid cell in which there were other prisoners. They were a pathetic group of dirty, famished human beings. They had suddenly become my companions for an indefinite period.

One man looked at me and asked, "Why are you here?" I wondered, too. There could be no other reason than the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I then realised that the Lord had put me among those captives, because they were there without any hope. They were suffering not only from starvation, but also from spiritual hunger. I started to speak of my faith in God, and their reaction was unbelievable!

Two of the prisoners were discouraged Christians. As soon as I began to speak of love and forgiveness, they started crying. They dropped to their knees, confessing their sins and shedding tears of repentance. In the three months that followed, several prisoners accepted the Saviour.

That sombre, filthy, smelly prison cell became a place of light. The change was such that two warders also received the Saviour. The place where curses had been heard was transformed into a sanctuary filled with hymns of praise and hope.

We can all bear fruit where we are, for the glory of God and the salvation of others.

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
