The devil actually exists. But he takes care to...

There shall not be found among you anyone who conjures spells or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear.
Deuteronomy 18:10.11.15.

The devil actually exists. But he takes care to conceal himself and to play down the occult and his various artful ways. Magic, witchcraft and extra-sensory perception are trivialised in many science fiction novels and films, and even in popular children's books. In this way inhibitions are destroyed and the occult becomes more attractive. How apt, therefore, is God's urgent admonition to avoid every form of the occult!

What if we have already succumbed to the influence of the occult? The Bible shows us the Liberator: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, He is the Prophet whom God promised to send and to whom we should listen. Christ overcame the devil and robbed him of his power.

Many have already experienced liberation from all occult entanglements and the fears associated with them. They have confessed the guilt of their lives to Him, including every tie with the occult that they have renounced so as to follow Christ. And He granted them new life with true freedom.

A woman who has been thus liberated testified: "I threw away all esoteric books and cards and broke with this satanic doctrine once for all. Gradually my fatigue and that hypnotising atmosphere disappeared. Today I derive strength from praying to Jesus and extend my knowledge through the Bible, the Word of God." Jesus is indeed alive. He is mightier than Satan. He conquered him through His sacrifice on the cross.

Today's reading: Job 13:1-28 · Acts 9:17-30

. He learned that God can only use subjection of Himself, weakness in self, and dependence upon Him only.
However, there was only one person, spiritually speaking, who was a true Nazarite, and that was our Lord Jesus. He shows us that it is not a negative thing to be separated from the world but rather a...More

Adam found an excuse:

Jeremiah 17:9

In a discussion on the above text with some young people, the question was asked: how are we to understand the word "deceitful" here? After some consideration they reached this conclusion: deceitful means that the heart finds an excuse for everything. This seems a very apt...More
