September 10, 2015 Today's reading: Psalm 83 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. John 14:30-31 Since sin entered the world, everyone has been affected by its corrupting influence. In the course of time, God used various means to convince mankind of his bondage under sin and its terrible consequences, e.g. the moral law of Moses with the ten commandments. But it always became clear that man was unable to live up to God's standards. Finally, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth. This manifested absolutely what was in man's heart and what drove him on: the presence of Jesus on earth in all His love and grace called forth nothing but hatred. Thus the fact that mankind is under the power of Satan, "the ruler of this world", was brought to light more distinctly than ever before. There was only One on earth who was not under Satan's power and on whom he had no hold: Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Although Jesus had become true Man, Satan could find nothing in Him that would succumb to his evil devices, not even in the terrible sufferings and agony of death that lay ahead of the Son of God. There was nothing in the Person of Jesus nor in His walk that gave the enemy an occasion to attack. Satan tried everything to break Christ's obedience to the will of God, but he failed to succeed. Out of love to God, His Father and to the lost, Christ devoted Himself willingly and completely to the accomplishment of God's will, even unto death. |

Open Heavens for Sunday, March 2, 2014 by Pastor E.A Adeboye NEGATIVE LIVING Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More |
