Heman and Jeduthun

‘With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the Lord.' 1 Chronicles 16:41 NIV

There is a good chance you have never heard of these two men; they're among the Bible's more inconspicuous characters. In the wonderful worship choirs of King David, they were appointed to give thanks. Heman and Jeduthun were under the king's authority (see ). It was literally their job.

And it's your job too! You're under the authority of the King of Kings who commands you to ‘be thankful' (Colossians 3:15 NIV), ‘offer to God thanksgiving' (Psalm 50:14 NKJV), ‘come before His presence with thanksgiving' (Psalm 95:2 NKJV), ‘enter into His gates with thanksgiving' (Psalm 100:4 NKJV), and ‘in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.' (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV)

‘We worship God by means of His Spirit and rejoice in our life in union with Christ Jesus. We do not put any trust in external ceremonies.' (Philippians 3:3 GNT) Instead we rely on what Jesus has done for us and are intensely grateful to Him. Have you ever been so moved that you sprang into spontaneous worship? Nothing is more thrilling. You will never know what you're missing if you don't praise your Creator with your every fibre. Sing, lift up your hands, cry out, laugh, whatever if you do it in a spirit of praise, thanksgiving, and gratefulness, God will love it. Plus, thanksgiving leads to better physical, emotional, and mental health. The Creator of your soul is a master psychologist. He knows that thanksgiving is not only appropriate but therapeutic. It's hard to be thankful and at the same time be grumpy, critical, or ill tempered.

OF KEYS AND DOORS

Every apartment or compartment with a lock has its key. It takes a key to open the gate of a house and several keys to enter the house its rooms. If you have fridge, car or wardrobe, you will equally have their keys. From the foregoing therefore, it is apparent that several good things with value have their...More

APPLY THE KEY

Every blessing worth its salt requires a key without which the seeker cannot access it. While some people have never experienced open doors, others once did, but the doors hitherto opened to them have been shut. In

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised'
