Enjoy each day of this New Year (2)

‘I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you.' John 15:11 AMPC

You need to enjoy each day of your life for Christ's sake because He paid a very high price for you to be able to.

Jesus said, ‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.' (John 10:10 NKJV)

Jesus said: ‘These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.'(John 15:11 NKJV)

He said, ‘Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.' (John 16:24 NKJV) Jesus actually prayed that you would have joy: ‘But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.' (John 17:13 NKJV)

With Jesus Himself praying such powerful words about His desire for you to have joy, how could you ever doubt that God wants you to be happy and enjoy your life? As a redeemed child of God, you're a walking advert for Christianity! Don't go around looking severe, stern, strict, sour, and censorial, believing that you're coming across as spiritual. No, that's a turnoff to non-Christians! You need a new mindset; a Scriptural one that will enable you to enjoy life and make you a more enjoyable person to be around.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

What shall the baptized for the dead do if those that are baptized rise not at all? Why also are they baptized for them?
(1 Corinthians 15:29)

Who are "the dead," and who are those "baptized for the dead"? The next verse gives an important hint: "Why do we also endanger ourselves every...More

KEEP YOURSELF HUMBLE

Several years ago, I was on a visit to a parish of our church in Ilesha (a town in southwest Nigeria) on the same day that a Bible Study was to take place. Because I wanted to be blessed, I sat down in the congregation waiting for the Bible study teacher to commence the lesson for the day. However, an overzealous...More
