Over 24,000 people attended the Season of Love Festival at C?n Th? Stadium in Vietnam earlier this week, where they heard Evangelist Franklin Graham share the Gospel. As reported by CBN News, the event resulted in 1,200 people surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ.

"The Gospel transcends all languages and cultures," Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), said. "I told the nearly 14,000 people in the stadium that there are two types of blindness—physical blindness and spiritual blindness.

"We praise God for the hundreds of people whose hearts were moved, and they responded to the invitation to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior and follow Him as Lord of their lives!"

The two-day event was planned out and prayed for by 315 churches and pastors. Overall, 14,000 people attended the festival on the first night, while 10,000 stood outside in the pouring rain for the second night.

"Rain is a sign of God's blessing in the Bible, and today we saw God pour out His blessings on Vietnam," Graham shared on Facebook early Wednesday. "It was a privilege to see so many people respond to God's invitation to receive Jesus Christ by faith tonight."

Despite being a communist nation, BGEA noted that the Vietnamese government has given the organization more opportunities to host outreaches.

"We're there to share the love of Christ," said Festival Director Derek Forbes.

"We really have been given a lot of freedom," he said.

In 2017, the ministry held its first evangelistic outreach in Vietnam for its Love Hanoi Festival and hosted the Spring Love Festival in Ho Chi Minh City last year.

During last week's event, residents of mainly atheist or Buddhist backgrounds heard worship music led by Charity Gayle, The Afters, and Vietnamese artists and later heard Graham share the Gospel.

Nguyen, a 60-year-old woman, told BGEA that she had previously avoided Jesus despite hearing about Him.

"Ever since I was a teenager, I avoided making a decision to follow Jesus because Buddhism was familiar," she said.

After hearing Graham's message, however, Nguyen says she has a "newfound hope."

"I heard every word Franklin Graham said. I listened very carefully when he said if I seek (God), I will find Him," she told the ministry. "I want to trust Jesus as my Savior, and I want to follow Jesus as my Lord."

Following the event, Graham is calling on Christians across the globe to pray for the new believers in Vietnam.

"It was a privilege to see so many people respond to God's invitation to receive Jesus Christ by faith tonight. Would you join me in praying for these new believers and for all of the churches here that are now coming alongside them in their walk with Christ?"
