Joyce Meyer Ministries and XO Marriage host Jimmy Evans have announced their departure from Daystar Television Network amid a child abuse scandal.

"Daystar has been a long-standing broadcast partner, helping our ministry to share the life-changing message of Jesus around the world. However, in recent weeks, we have become troubled by allegations surrounding the Daystar Television Network," Dan Meyer, Joyce Meyer's son and CEO of Joyce Meyer Ministries, stated in an email shared with The Dallas Morning News.

"Due to the nature of these allegations and my mom's own story, we feel a profound responsibility to stand for truth and create space for its discovery. In addition, we must always be sensitive to the hearts of those walking on this journey with us," Meyer added. "As many of you are aware, we have received a significant and growing amount of concern from our partners and viewers regarding the Daystar situation."

"The decision to suspend programming was not an easy one to make, but myself, my brother, our mom, and dad, along with other ministry leadership, believe it is necessary at this time. When and if this situation is satisfactorily resolved, we will potentially consider resuming programming on Daystar."

As Crosswalk Headlines previously reported, Daystar co-founder and president Joni Lamb accused her son, Jonathan Lamb, of blackmail and launching a smear campaign against her after he and his wife alleged that a family member abused their daughter and that his mother tried to cover it up.

"I want to assure you that all the allegations that are circulating against myself, my late husband, and other members of my family are completely false, and we have already begun to take legal steps to defend ourselves and will address the accusations in a God-honoring way," Joni Lamb said in a statement.

In an announcement last week, XO founder Jimmy Evans said he was departing Daystar to focus full-time on his endtimes.com Tipping Point Ministries.

"This next year, in early 2025, I'm transitioning out of XO to do endtimes.com full-time, and I'm very excited about that," Evans said.

"I've had so many things on my plate for so long, and now endtimes.com Tipping Point Ministries is going to be the focus of my ministry going forward, I pray for the rest of my life," he added. "I love Bible prophecy. I love doing this."

Evans and his wife, Karen, launched the "Marriage Television" show in 1994 and have since passed the show on to their son, Brent Evans, The Christian Post reports.

According to The Roys Report, Evans's shift away from the marriage ministry follows backlash he received for claiming Joni Lamb is the "voice of God" and his support for her marriage to Doug Weiss, a sex therapist.

Per Protestia, Additional departures from Daystar over the scandal include Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, Baruch Korman, televangelist Jesse Duplantis, Hank and Brenda Kunneman, self-professed prophet Lance Wallau, and Jack Graham of Powerpoint Ministries.
