An Egyptian national, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, is under investigation for firebombing and injuring multiple people at a pro-Israel rally at a pedestrian mall in Boulder, Colorado.

"Authorities are currently conducting a forensic search of the scene, collecting device remnants, fingerprints, and possible surveillance footage," Jason Pack, a retired FBI special agent, told Fox News Digital. "Background investigations are underway—both locally and internationally, likely with Egyptian authorities through the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, into the suspect's history, affiliations, and possible radicalization."

Authorities noted that Soliman, 45, had overstayed his visa.

"He came armed with Molotov cocktails and a homemade flamethrower. He shouted 'Free Palestine' and other slogans during the assault. This wasn't random. It was personal and likely politically or ideologically driven," he said.

At the present time, investigators are determining whether the incident is considered domestic terrorism.

"Authorities are actively investigating whether the attack where the suspect used Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower while shouting 'Free Palestine,' meets the legal definition of a domestic terror incident under U.S. law," Pack explained.

The victims, who ranged in age from 67 to 88, were members of the weekly walking club Run for Their Lives. Per Breaking Christian News, their injuries ranged from minor to severe.

"I saw fire, I saw people falling and screaming and crying and tripping. I saw the attacker have a Molotov, he had three Molotov cocktails, one of them he threw inside of a group at the group, and one lady lit on fire from head to toe and then the other four people were also injured and in the fire but not as bad as the first one," Alex Osante, an eyewitness, said.

According to another witness, there were "shoots of fire, linear, about 20 feet long."

The incident took place just two weeks after another man killed two young staffers from the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., in the name of Palestine.
