I watched the hospital take my husband's rights away — then his life

When 2020 came, our eyes were opened — at least they were for some of us.

The world shut down. Community and life as we knew it in an instant had changed.

My life significantly changed in 2021 when I drove my 55-year-old, healthy husband to the hospital in Florida, and it was the worst mistake of my life. He had been home for about a week, got diagnosed with COVID-19, and was struggling to breathe, so his primary doctor over the phone said he needed to go to the hospital.

It seems that so many of us would like to forget about the COVID era and move on entirely because of the disruptive turmoil of that time, but that’s a dreadful mistake. It is important that we never forget because our freedoms remain at risk. Here’s what happened to me.

The minute my husband stepped inside the hospital building, all his rights were taken away. Family members, including me, his wife of 31 years, were not allowed back in the room where they had moved him to. For five days, I called and left messages asking doctors to call me. I asked if I could see him, but I was not allowed, and no one returned my calls.

His condition was worsening every day. On the first day, he was given a deadly mandated drug called Remdesivir that the government prescribed for COVID in the hospital. Later, his medical records would show that the medicine given on day 1 was the one that shut his organs down day by day.

He was in the hospital for 10 days, and during that time, they would pressure him to go on a ventilator every single day. They would tell him he wasn’t going to make it. They wouldn’t allow him to get up. They kept putting him on more and more oxygen. They would never bathe him. After the fifth day, I finally demanded to see him, and when I did, he looked awful. He said they wouldn’t come into his room. It was so lonely, he said. After 15 days in the hospital, I got Ivermectin approved. Prior to this, they wouldn’t allow high-dose vitamins, monoclonal antibody treatment, or Ivermectin. I finally found a doctor who would give him Ivermectin. Once he received the Ivermectin, he made a dramatic improvement.

Did you know the mandated protocol treatment costs? Remdesivir costs $3,120 per dose, and they usually gave a minimal dosing of 6 (2x the first day, then 1x for 4-9 more days). This is a total cost of over $18,000 -$33,000. By contrast, Ivermectin costs $1.80 for a 5-day course. The ventilator cost was about $40,000 per day.

The government also paid hospitals 20% more on top of the total hospital bill for both Medicare and Medicaid patients when they used this protocol that was mandated. Doctors and nurses couldn’t use their own knowledge and skills. Patients were treated like hostages, and the majority of staff either quit or were like zombies following the government protocols.

My husband was begging for the right to try other treatments. They ignored him.

He reached out to the Florida governor, the local news media, and the AHCA (Agency for Healthcare Administration). None of them responded.

Hospital staff pressured him so much that he decided to go on the ventilator. After that, they punctured his lungs and gave him so much propofol and fentanyl that he was never coming home. Just 3 days later, he was gone. He was fine 3 weeks prior.

My husband and I were advocating daily, but the majority of the time, they didn’t give informed consent on the drugs he was given, and didn’t allow most of what we asked for.

Once you sign the keypad when you arrive at the hospital, you are signing all your rights away. They don’t have to provide informed consent. They don’t have to tell you that Remdesivir, which they gave my husband on day 1, shuts down your organs. An Ebola virus study showed that 53% of the patients died when given this same medication.

As Christians, we must be well-informed of our rights well before we fall ill. If you step inside a hospital, you are taking a huge risk of medical malpractice and giving up all your rights. I made a 3-part documentary describing my husband's full story, "Making A Killing," and wrote a book detailing my loss called I Am Sanibel.

It has been 6 years now since this madness started. My husband died 4 years ago, and they want to not talk about it anymore, yet they still give the deadly medications even if you don’t have COVID. We need justice for all our loved ones who suffered.

We must stand up for biomedical ethics. How are you being informed? How are you standing up for those killed needlessly? What will you do if you get sick enough to need treatment in the hospital?

We need to care about our rights in and out of hospitals and throughout the entire healthcare industry. I don’t want you to be the next victim like my husband. You need to care.
