Pop superstar Justin Bieber surprised fans with a poignant acoustic rendition of his song “Everything Hallelujah” during the 2026 FIFA World Cup halftime show.



Pop star Justin Bieber delivered a rendition of his song “Everything Hallelujah” during the halftime show of the final match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Bieber, who only played the song on acoustic guitar, was a co-headliner at the halftime show along with other well-known musicians, including Shakira, Madonna and BTS at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Billboard reported.

The segment featuring the pop singer, introduced by actor Jason Sudeikis, who portrayed his character, Ted Lasso, an American football coach who leads a UK soccer team in the Apple TV comedy-drama series “Ted Lasso.”

“I gotta say, first half of halftime knocked my darn socks off,” said Lasso, as played by Sudeikis, as he walked alongside Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt. “How the heck is anyone gonna follow all that?”

“You know what I think we need? We need some heart,” he added. “You know, someone who has soul. Someone who can bring the love. Ooh. You thinking what I’m thinking?”

As Bieber made his way onto the field, Lasso told him, “All right, young man. Let’s go! It’s your big shot. OK. Listen to me. Go out there. Don’t be nervous. Nobody’s watching. Make us proud.”

Bieber then goes on to perform an acoustic rendition of “Everything Hallelujah,” which appeared on his 2025 album "Swag II." The song is about being thankful for the ordinary things in life, including a morning walk, kissing his wife, Hailey Bieber and brushing his teeth. The lyrics read in part:

"Maybe we find love in these moments

We don't even have to try

I could sing a song, but the words just wouldn't do

So I said, Hallelujah, hallelujah, baby, uh"

During his performance at the halftime show, Bieber improvised on the song by adding the World Cup as a “hallelujah” moment.

“It's the World Cup. Hallelujah. It's the World Cup. Hallelujah,” he sang as the crowd cheered.

In recent years, Bieber has released songs related to his Christian faith, including "Freedom" (with Beam), which was part of his 2021 EP Freedom, a six-track gospel project released on Easter Sunday that year, as well as another song titled “Holy” from his 2020 album, Justice Song Facts reported.
