NBA Star Michael Porter Jr. Shares Gospel with Muslim Streamer: 'Jesus Is the Only Way'

Top NBA scorer Michael Porter Jr. recently sparked a viral online debate, confronting popular livestreamer N3on and his vast audience with a blunt declaration about faith, heaven and the fear of death.

NBA Star Michael Porter Jr. Shares Gospel with Muslim Streamer: 'Jesus Is the Only Way'

One of the NBA’s top scorers shared the gospel with a popular livestreamer and his audience Tuesday, declaring that “Jesus is the only way to heaven” and explaining that he is not afraid to die because he has placed his trust in Christ.

Michael Porter Jr. of the Brooklyn Nets was a guest for several hours Tuesday on the Kick livestream of Mikyle Rafiq, better known online as N3on, when the conversation turned to religion. Rafiq has built a massive online following, with more than 1 million followers on both YouTube and Instagram.

The Kick video already has more than 300,000 views.

The wide-ranging conversation about faith began after Rafiq said he was concerned about AI's direction and its impact on the world.

“Make sure you're right with God, man — not just any God. Make sure you're right with Jesus Christ,” said Porter, who averaged a career-high 24.2 points during the 2025-26 season and led his team in scoring.

Rafiq responded that he is Muslim but respects all religions and urges his viewers to pray.

“But what if the God that they're praying to is the wrong God?” Porter asked.

“But everyone worships the same God, no?” Rafiq responded.

“No,” Porter said.

The NBA star continued, explaining what makes Christianity unique: “The biggest difference is Christians think that Jesus is the only way to heaven. He died for our sins. … We're all sinners, and if we believe in Him, He saved us, and we get to go to heaven. Other religions don't think He's the way to heaven. So what if one of the religions is wrong?”

Porter added that the “ultimate judge is God,” but that the Bible says “you have to put your faith in Jesus Christ.”

God’s judgment, Porter added, is real.

“The world is an evil, scary place, and we're all gonna die one day. What if you're on the wrong side of that fence, and then we spend, you spend, eternity in hell?”

Rafiq acknowledged he’s fearful of death.

“That's my number one fear — dying,” he said.

Porter then offered an apologetic for belief in an afterlife.

“Some people think that the best thing about this life is partying. Some people think the best part about this life is going on a walk with friends. [But] whatever you think that the point of this life is — there's got to be something better than this,” Porter said.

Porter then explained that his confidence in his salvation rests on Christ.

“Christianity is the only religion where it's, like, none of us can be good enough to go to heaven because we've all sinned,” Porter said. “We've all done bad things, and someone else came and died for us and forgave us of our sins. That's why I'm so secure in the fact that I'm going to heaven, and that's why I'm not scared of death.”

He even invited Rafiq to attend church with him.

“Look into the Christian faith, bro. We can go to church.”

I wouldn't be here if not for the prayers of my grandmother. She prayed nightly for each of her many grandchildren by name. I wouldn't be here if not for the prayers of my mother that sustain me to this very hour. There are moments that I'm fighting darkness and the pressures of this world, and I know my...More
