NBC host Savannah Guthrie has announced a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother's safe return, pleading for continued prayers and acknowledging the possibility of a tragic outcome.



NBC host Savannah Guthrie issued an emotional, faith-filled plea Tuesday for the return of her mother, acknowledging she may already be “gone” and “dancing in heaven,” while urging anyone with information to come forward as she announced a new $1 million reward.

Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped outside her home in the early hours of Feb. 1 and has not been seen since, with few new clues emerging in recent days and hope fading as the search entered its 24th day Tuesday.

The biggest development this weekend came with reports that photos of a masked man captured by a doorbell camera may have been taken on different nights – raising the possibility he visited the front porch more than once. Citing a source, Arizona’s 13 News reported that “a photo of the suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping appears to have been taken on a different day than the other photos previously released by the FBI.”

Two photos obtained by NewsNation show the Nancy Guthrie suspect at her home on different days, sources confirm to @BrianEntin and @LibbeyDean_ indicating the suspect appears to have visited Guthrie’s house before the kidnapping.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, though, threw cold water on the possibility, saying in a statement that “we are aware that doorbell images released earlier in the investigation depict a suspect in different stages of attire, including with and without a backpack.”

“There is no date or time stamp associated with these images,” the sheriff’s department added. “Therefore, any suggestion that the photographs were taken on different days is purely speculative.”

Savannah Guthrie acknowledged her mother may no longer be alive – yet said she is still clinging to hope.

“We know that millions of you have been praying. So many people have been praying – of every faith and no faith at all – praying for her return, and we feel those prayers. Please keep praying without ceasing. We still believe. We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home. Hope against hope, as my sister says – we are blowing on the embers of hope.

“We also know that she may be lost. She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves, and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce and with our daddy. If this is what is to be, then we will accept it.

“But we need to know where she is.”

The younger Guthrie announced a $1 million family reward for “any information that leads us to her recovery.” Meanwhile, she also said the family is donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“We know there are millions of families that have suffered with this kind of uncertainty,” she said. “... We are hoping that the attention that has been given to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours who are in need and need prayers and need support.”
