Global Fire Ministries founder Jeff Jansen, who was among several self-styled prophets to wrongly predict former President Donald Trump would win a second term, has left his wife and family to "pursue his own desires" and remains "unrepentant and unremorseful," his ministry announced.

Last Wednesday, the Tennessee-based evangelical ministry announced that Jansen was asked to step down as co-senior leader of the operation because his "unscriptural" conduct disqualified him from leadership.

Global Fire Ministries is now led by Jansen's wife, Jan, to whom he has been married for nearly 26 years.

"Due to a pattern of making poor moral choices, and bad coping mechanisms, character flaws became obvious which disqualified Jeff from New Testament leadership. His lifestyle in the home, traveling on the road, and in the House of God, has fallen below Biblical standards laid out for those in leadership. He has been confronted concerning these flaws numerous times over a period of time," the ministry said in a May 5 statement.

"Rather than submit to the process of healing and restoration, Jeff recently made an intentional decision to leave his wife and family to pursue his own desires."

While asking supporters for prayers, the ministry also explained that "any pursuit of further ministry on Jeff's behalf is not under the umbrella and blessing of Global Fire Ministries."

Jansen, who founded the ministry more than 18 years ago, describes himself on his LinkedIn page as "a revivalist whose ministry of faith, power and revelation has affected the lives of thousands."

"Jeff's burning desire is to see churches, cities, regions and whole nations completely transformed by the power of God," his profile notes. "Jeff flows in a strong prophetic and miracle healing anointing and releases the Glory of God in fresh fire everywhere he goes. Jeff also has a unique anointing as a musical prophet, often times proclaiming and declaring the directives of the Lord through music. With or without music, he flows in the prophetic stream of the gifts of revelation."

While other self-styled prophets like Jeremiah Johnson have apologized for incorrectly prophesying a second term for Trump, Jansen maintains that "he is our president."

"He [Trump] is our president, and I don't back up from that," he said in an April 25 video post, which he reposted to his social media on Sunday.

"I think we're going to see very, very quickly many things take place from world economic reform, which is happening right now, [to] the coming down of many, many institutions that have been there for a long time. And the voice of the prophets that really are speaking and standing."

He also asked for prayers for his family and his kids and insisted that he is being attacked by "crazy left-wing radicals."

"There's all kinds of crazy things being said about me: defaming and threats and death threats, family. I know where it's all coming from — crazy left-wing radicals that are spawned through the multiple newspapers," he said. "God's gonna vindicate."

In a post on Instagram last June, Jansen praised his wife for being "incredible."

"Today Jan and I celebrate 25 years of beautiful marriage, 8 children, 18 grandchildren and thousands of spiritual family," he wrote. "Thank you baby for being the constant in the ups and downs ... you are incredible!!"
