TRUE GREATNESS READ: But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: -Mark 10:43 THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 43-45 Matthew 12:24-50 Some people feel like a small pebble lost in the immensity of a canyon. But no matter how insignificant we can judge ourselves to be, we can be greatly used by God. In a sermon early in 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. quoted Jesus' words from Mark 10 about servanthood. Then he said, "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve....You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love." When Jesus' disciples quarrelled about who would get the places of honour in heaven, He told them: "Whoever desires to be great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:43-45). I wonder about us. Is that our understanding of greatness? Are we gladly serving, doing tasks that may be unnoticed? Is the purpose of our serving to please our Lord rather than to gain applause? If we are willing to be a servant, our lives will point to the One who is truly great. - Vermon Grounds No service in itself is small, None great, though earth it fill; But that is small that seeks its own, And great that does God's will. - Anon Little things done in Christ's name are great things. |

Open Heavens for Saturday, December 14, 2013 by Pastor E.A Adeboye CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU? Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More |
Open Heavens for Friday, January 10, 2014 by Pastor E.A Adeboye SPIRITUAL WARFARE I When we are told to put on the whole armour of God, one thing becomes clear instantly. This is the fact that there is a God. We cannot be talking of the armour of God if there is no God. Anyone who thinks that there is no God is a fool (Psalm 14:1). You have to pray that God would reveal Himself to you. The...More |

He came as a mighty obstacle but turned into a mighty door of opportunity when God stepped in. Every giant who stands in your way this season shall become a door to your breakthrough in Jesus' Name.
