His Own Blood (1)

Nor by blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, [Christ] has entered in once for all into the holy of holies, having found an eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:12 ???

His Own Blood (1)
Three times in the New Testament we are told that the Lord Jesus shed “His own blood.” The priests of Israel in the Old Testament were continually bringing the blood of animals into the tabernacle and later the temple. No priest ever presented his own blood before God. Even if this was possible, the blood of Aaron and his sons was tainted by sin. In these pictures and types in the Old Testament, Aaron had to present an offering for himself as well as for the people (Lev. 16:6).

The book of Hebrews presents the Lord Jesus as the final answer to all the types and shadows of the Old Testament. Because the Lord Jesus was without sin (Heb. 4:15), His blood was precious (1 Pet. 1:19) and of great value in the sight of God.

The Son of God became Man in order that He might die and shed His own blood. In our verse, He not only has died, but He has entered into the holy place, the very presence of God, in virtue of His blood that was shed. He has entered there once for all. The type was Aaron entering the most holy place on the day of atonement in Leviticus 16. Aaron entered with the blood of bulls and of goats, but he could not stay there. He had to come out, and the next year, repeat the process and enter again into the holy place with fresh blood that was shed. The Lord Jesus has entered once and for all. He will never leave that holy place in order to come and shed His blood again. His offering never has to be repeated. As our verse says, it has eternal results.

We praise His name! And as other scriptures tell us, we also have access there to come before our God and Father into that holy place. May we enter in boldness in worship as well as in prayer (Heb. 10:19). Christ has made the way for us!

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
