The Rock

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.
Deuteronomy 32:4

The Rock
Every life needs a solid, stable basis; otherwise, everything turns into confusion. The Old Testament bears clearest witness to the fact that God Himself is the Rock, the bedrock of unchanging, dependable solidity. The New Testament speaks often too of the Rock, declaring, “that Rock was Christ” (1 Cor. 10:4). This symbolized the truth that Christ is God. Our own weakness and dependence require a foundation of absolute perfection. Where can this possibly be found except in the One who is Himself the living God?

In Him only the soul may rest with complete confidence, for all His ways are righteousness. Could we imagine ever being satisfied with a God who could in any measure compromise righteousness? We complain if a judge hands down a verdict that is not right or fair. Such a person we cannot trust. If God could be unrighteous in any detail, then we could not be sure of His acting rightly toward us at any given time. What unlimited chaos this would bring to the whole creation! But He does right in every realm. He has done right in exposing to us our own sad wrongdoings and showing us that apart from the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus we could have no part in His righteousness. More than this, He does right in forgiving and justifying the guilty sinner who receives His Son Jesus as Lord and Savior because the full weight of God’s righteous judgment has been borne at Calvary.

He is absolutely faithful and without deceit. This is beautifully seen in the giving of His Son and also in His raising Him from among the dead. Can the value of this sacrifice ever fail? Never! Nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:39).

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
