Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."

Knowing God's Will (1)
We are exhorted in these and other verses to know the Lord's will before doing something. So the question arises: How do we know His will? There are several principles that will help us with this question.

God's will for our individual lives will never contradict what He has spoken in the Bible, His Word. The Lord is the Truth . Since God did not spare His Son, but gave Him so that we could have eternal life, we can be assured that He wants to bless us and will give us what we need for our greatest good, and for His honor.
