The Sufficiency of the Word of God

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Sufficiency of the Word of God
Since all Scripture is from God, it is all profitable, even the genealogies and the names of cities. If my interpretation of it does not give spiritual profit, then my interpretation is not right.

First, it is profitable for teaching or doctrine, for this is the basis of all true Christian practice. It is profitable for reproof or conviction, a matter we should deeply take to heart, for it is a wise man who hears reproof. We should certainly allow the Word of God to fully convict us regarding anything that cannot stand its precious, searching light. It is profitable for correction. Reproof without correction would be pointless, and Scripture should be applied continually to correct every misapprehension I might entertain. It is profitable for instruction in righteousness. Only in Scripture do we find out what righteousness really is, and only in Scripture can we be enlightened in the many aspects of righteousness that involve every relationship in which we may be placed.

Without the Word, godliness will not be rightly directed. The man of God requires the Word of God in order to be complete, in the sense of being mature. In 1 Timothy 6:11, Timothy was called a "man of God." This is true only of those whose chief object is to honor God. Only in the measure that this is true will we be equipped by the Word for every good work. Only by obeying the Word in separation from ungodliness can one be . The Word of God has everything we need, but it must be applied seriously and faithfully to every aspect of our lives.

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
