Walking in the Lord’s Ways

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord!
Psalm 119:1

Walking in the Lord's Ways
God has given us many Scriptures and examples to help us walk in His ways. Through these He teaches us and leads us to do what is right in His eyes. As doers of God's Word, we will be undefiled (blameless, without defect). By walking in "the way" of the Lord we will be blessed, as we follow the One who never failed. The Lord Jesus kept God's law—not necessarily man's interpretations of it— and never added to it, nor took anything away from it. He is our Teacher and great Lesson-book at the same time.

Our God teaches and encourages us through the many examples of believers in both Testaments who were true overcomers. As we submit to Him and to His Word, we will be overcomers like they were, advancing in God's school and learning from Him. We also learn from many followers, for example John, "the disciple whom Jesus loved," the prototype of overcomers. An overcomer is someone who does not get sidetracked but keeps going despite tremendous burdens, trials, or temptations. A dead fish is carried along by the stream, but a living fish goes against the stream. A salmon even jumps up and finds ways to pass tremendous obstacles, a lesson from nature to help us be overcomers.

How much we can learn from our Lord! Just before His sufferings on the cross, Jesus told the disciples to "take heart; I have overcome the world" (Jn. 16:33 esv). Today, the Lord encourages us to look up to Him, seated at God's right hand. Stephen saw Him there standing in heavenly glory (Acts 7:56), ready to come to the rescue of His faithful disciple, a model overcomer like John. Our Lord Jesus is ready to help believers that trust Him to be His disciples, witnesses, and overcomers.

Jesus says to her, Mary. She, turning around, ...

Jesus says to her, Mary. She, turning around, says to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni, which means Teacher. Jesus says to her, Touch Me not, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.

We have not a high priest not able to sympathize with our infirmities, but tempted in all things in like manner, sin apart.

PROVOKING POSITIVE CHANGE

Change is one event that is constant in life. Change denotes movement from one state to another. There are two categories of change: positive and negative. Due to the fact that change can either be positive or negative, Africans would say: "Change is good for the poor but bad for the rich". Change in life is...More
