The One Man Pleasing to God
The Lord Jesus Himself reminds us that as the days of Noah were, so shall they be again before His coming as the Son of Man. While this speaks of His coming in glory, yet we see all around us the increase of public violence and corruption (Mt. 24:37-38).

In the days of Noah, Jehovah looked at the earth and saw corruption and violence everywhere. The imagination of man's heart was only evil continually. Yet, there was one man who stood out as pleasing to Him: Noah. He walked with God. He was obedient, for He did what Jehovah commanded (Gen. 6:22).

Does this not give us a little picture of what it must have been for the Father when our blessed Lord Jesus Christ was here in this world? Judaism had deteriorated into a self-righteous, covetous, hypocritical religion. Yet, in the midst of such, the Lord walked here entirely pleasing to His Father, always doing those things that pleased Him! The commandments which the Father gave Him, He would carry out (Jn. 14:31). His obedience was perfect. Every word He spoke reflected in a perfect way the Father. At last, a Man in this world in whom God could fully rest.
